As a National and International competitor John Soares understands the concerns of trainers and handlers.
He has had experience training and trialing different breeds. Outside of needing a dog with the genetics and ability for our sport,
its the blending of characters (dog and handler) that holds the "magic" in the team.
"Unison between dog and handler is needed to successed...its a marriage."
Training is not about rehearsing sequences or predetermined exercises repeatedly.
Training is about teaching...Why...and what steps are needed to facilitate learning for the dog as well as the handler.
"The criteria for learning any art is patience, discipline and dedication."
A dogs consistency and reliability stems from a handlers or trainers discipline and patience.
THERE ARE NO SHORT CUTS. This dedication to detail in handling and training will bring about accuracy in the dog. Dogs will learn regardless.
What we are as handlers provides the dog with a point of reference in training.
If we are not meticulous in who we are as handlers we can not expect our dogs to be.
"Knowing what not to do in dog training is just as important as knowing what to do. "John Soares has experienced many styles of training.
Some which were agreed with and some not but all being appreciated. All these experiences have helped shape his present beliefs and successes.
Balance is an important element to dog training. Being balanced and fair in a relationship is important to it being successful.
This equilibrium maintains the active participation of the dog without sacrificing control.
This is where training seminars with John Soares can help you. His seminars are a collective experience.
The aim is to plant and cultivate an interpretation through explanation and practical demonstration.
John Soares is able to articulate his experiences bringing to seminars something more then just practical ability.
